Sigma 3 Group has announced that it has successfully purchased the business and assets of Mereway Kitchens out of administration.
Sigma 3, which is also the parent company of Masterclass Kitchens, said in a statement that the acquisition of Mereway Kitchens was a significant milestone in its growth plans and added that it is looking forward to working with Mereway staff, loyal customers and trusted suppliers over the coming months and years.
Commenting on the acquisition, Sigma 3 Group chairman Brian Lakin (pictured) said: “Whilst we determine our investment plans for Mereway in the mid to long-term, it will be business as usual. We hope to restore stability with a sharp focus on improving service and completeness. Also, reinstating best practices to facilitate future expansion as we are committed to the business’s long-term strategic success and prosperity.”
Mereway Kitchens co-founders Richard and Bob Norris said of the development: “Although we’ve faced challenges over the past few years and are disappointed to have not been able to trade through them, we’re pleased that Sigma 3 Group has taken over and ensured the continued success of the Mereway Kitchens business. This move provides much-needed security and stability for the staff, customers, and suppliers. We wish Sigma 3 Group every success and are confident that this is a fantastic move for the future of Mereway Kitchens.”
On August 3 kbbreview reported that Mereway Kitchens had given notice to appoint administrators.
After rumours had been circulating in the industry for some weeks, Mereway Kitchens gave notice to appoint administrators on August 2.
On August 4, kbbreview learnt that Mereway Kitchens had sent an email to its customers confirming that it was in talks to secure a buyer.
