Duravit boosts senior management with new appointment

German bathroom manufacturer Duravit has made significant changes to its management team with the appointment of Jutta Langer as its new President Europe Plus.

Joining the business on September 1, Langer will report directly to the brand’s CEO, Stephen Tahy, and will assume strategic, organisational and P&L responsibility for Europe and Africa.

Langer has over 20-years’ experience working with leading brands including Procter & Gamble and L’Oreal. Most recently, in her role as global vice president consulting, she established the strategic consulting arm for market analysist GfK.

Under the remit of the appointment and new structure, a dedicated marketing organisation will be set up to focus on the demands and requirements of the German skilled trades and European customers, architects, and interior architects. The new structure will also cover design, functionality and sustainability and e-commerce operations.

Earlier this month Duravit released its latest sustainability report detailing its strategy and long-term objectives to reduce its environmental impact. It also recently announced its intention to open the world’s first climate-neutral ceramic production plant, in Matane, Canada.

“With the appointment of Jutta Langer, we are acquiring a successful executive with international experience for the key sales region of Europe Plus, which includes our home market of Germany,” said Stephen Tahy, CEO Duravit. “ With her broad background in both B2B and B2C and her experience in the strategic development of business models and organisations, she will ensure that Duravit remains on its successful course.”

Langer’s appointment coincides with recent top managerial changes at other major bathroom brands including Grohe UK and its parent company Lixil and Ideal Standard.
