Whirlpool was among the appliance and KBB brands to be recognised as some of the most trustworthy companies in the world in new rankings compiled by Newsweek.
Other companies awarded the accolade include the likes of Samsung, LG, Siemens, V-Zug, Howdens, Villeroy & Boch and Geberit.
Newsweek awarded the companies with the achievement after it launched an independent study, undertaken in collaboration with market data analyst Statista.
As part of the survey, more than 70,000 participants from 21 countries were analysed, with the survey considering three main areas: customer trust, investor trust, and employee trust.
Whirlpool has said that its Global Ethics and Compliance Programme, as well as the Integrity Manual it launched in 2019, were both factors that helped it be voted one of the most trustworthy companies.
Whirlpool Corporation’s global chief legal officer said: “At Whirlpool Corporation, one of our enduring values is integrity — this means that across our global business, there is no right way to do a wrong thing.
“We are honoured to receive this recognition. It reflects the dedication of 61,000 global employees who believe in our mission of improving life at home for consumers. We cannot fulfil this vision if we don’t operate with integrity and trust.”
The full list, which includes KBB brands as well as other categories, such as banks, entertainment and food companies, can be read here.
Last month, Whirlpool reported its financial results for Q2 2023, and although revenue was up over the previous quarter, it was down on the same quarter last year.
