Duravit appoints new UK & Ireland MD

Jamie Welch has been appointed managing director of Duravit UK & Ireland as current MD Martin Carroll prepares to retire at the end of 2026.

Duravit UK & Ireland has appointed Jamie Welch as its new managing director, effective from 1 September 2026.

Welch joins the business with senior leadership experience across the sanitaryware industry, having previously held positions at Roca Sanitario S.A., Laufen and Hüppe.

In his new role, Welch will be responsible for strengthening Duravit’s position in the UK and Irish markets, developing customer partnerships and continuing the company’s growth strategy in the region.

His appointment forms part of a planned succession process, with current managing director Martin Carroll working alongside Welch until the end of 2026 to support the transition.

Carroll joined Duravit in 2012 and will retire from the company at the end of this year. During his time with the business, he was involved in its development across the UK and Ireland, including the opening of Duravit’s Clerkenwell flagship showroom in London in 2018.

“As I look ahead to retirement, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my time at Duravit – our customers, partners and colleagues.

“I’ve been proud to represent the brand in the UK & Ireland since joining in 2012, and the highlight has always been the relationships we’ve built together. I leave with immense gratitude and great confidence in the team’s continued success.” said Carroll.

“Martin Carroll has had a significant impact on the company’s development in the UK and Ireland. He laid the groundwork for Duravit’s future success in the region.

“On behalf of the entire management team, I wish him all the best in his retirement,” said Michael Demmer, chief executive officer, Duravit.
