Sinks, taps and accessories specialist The 1810 Company has announced that Dean Williams will be its new managing director.
Williams, who brings with him 25 years of leadership experience and a proven track record in the kitchen industry, will take over from current managing director Gareth Williams on December 1.
Gareth Williams, who founded The 1810 Company in 2009, will remain in the business in the new role of chairman.
Commenting on his new role as MD, Dean Williams said: “After a break from the manufacturing and supply side of the industry, I am thrilled with the opportunity to join The 1810 Company/Schock UK and contribute to the continued success enjoyed under the previous leadership of Gareth Williams. I am deeply committed to driving the company forward by leveraging innovative strategies, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration, and focusing on customer satisfaction.”
He added: “My goal is to enhance our product offerings and explore new market opportunities, ensuring that The 1810 Company/Schock UK remain leaders in the industry. I am excited to work with the talented team and lead our company to new heights of growth and excellence.”
Current MD and soon-to-be chairman Gareth Williams said of the appointment: “I am confident that Dean is the right person to guide the company into the future. The 1810 Company was acquired by German quartz composite sinks and mixer taps supplier Schock in March 2022 in a bid to expand its sales presence in the UK market. In January that year, Schock also bought Polish bathroom brand Marmorin.
Founded in 1924, Schock describes itself as the inventor of the quartz composite sink and says it “has been setting new standards in technology and quality in the field for more than 40 years”.
