Kitchen product supplier Waterline has a new CEO, with former finance and commercial director Michael Marriott filling the position.
Marriott first joined Waterline three years ago, when he was appointed to be its finance and commercial manager, before being promoted to the company’s finance and commercial director.
Prior to his time at Waterline, Marriott also spent four years in Hong Kong, working at holdings conglomerate Jardine Matheson. Waterline says that the experience he earned ensuring efficient operations during this time have been “incredibly transferable” to his work at Waterline.
The company says that in his time at the company, he has worked to implement a strong after-sales team and process, and he has also been involved in marketing and product development direction.
Marriott is a third generation member of the Head family, with his grandfather founding Crown, a manufacturing business in 1946. It originally made children’s toys before pivoting to manufacturing kitchen furniture in the 1980s. The company acquired distributor Waterline in 2011, and has since become a multi-service provider to the KBB industry.
According to Waterline, Barry Head will remain as managing director of Crown Group, and will also be assuming the role of Chairman for Waterline. Rob Taylor, sales director, will remain in his current role.
Commenting on his new position as CEO of Waterline, Marriott said: “My move from my current role as Finance & Commercial Director to CEO reflects the Waterline journey, as we modernise the business and move with the times, without detracting from the strength of being a family-owned business which is robust financially, nimble in product development and recognises the importance of customer service.”
Waterline also become a corporate member of the KBSA last year, offering a new benefits package to all members which included discounts on a number of key brands in its portfolio.
