Staff members from Saniflo have again taken part in the company’s annual London-to-Paris cycle challenge, raising funds for Cancer Research UK.
Setting off on September 2, a group of Saniflo employees took four days to complete the 240-mile long cycle journey. Their route began in London and ended at the global headquarters of SFA Group, which is near Paris’ iconic Eiffel Tower.
This year’s cycle challenge marks the sixth successful London-to-Paris cycle ride completed by the Saniflo team, with the company saying the annual fundraiser has become something of an “annual pilgrimage” for its staff.
This year’s cyclists included recently retired managing director Tim Pestell, as well as Louise Gibson, Scott Taylor and Nick Quartarone. They were joined by colleagues from SFA Saniflo in the Netherlands, Giel Klinkers and Alex Markus. Jason Barnes also followed the team in a support vehicle, ensuring equipment and supplies were available throughout the trip.
Last year’s cycle challenge successfully raised £10,000 for Cancer Research UK. The team said that their goal is to raise at least that much money again this year.
Saniflo UK’s marketing manager Amanda Mills commented: “All of us, in one way or another, have been touched by the dreadful impact of cancer. At Saniflo, we’ve witnessed its toll on colleagues and their families. We are proud to be part of this journey to support Cancer Research UK and hope to make a meaningful contribution to their ongoing efforts to find a cure.”
The fundraising total currently stands at almost £9,000, and the cycling team have extended their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated so far. The team is still welcoming donations, which can be offered here.
At the start of this year, Saniflo announced that its former managing director, Tim Pestell, had retired, with previous sales director Dave Cook now filling the role.
