HotSpot Titanium to cease trading

Multifunctional tap brand HotSpot Titanium has made the decision to close, and will unfortunately cease trading this month.

Several retailers reported to kbbreview that they had been notified by the company about its departure from the UK market. However, HotSpot Titanium has now confirmed it will be closing its business entirely.

The company was an offshoot of Inventum, which was founded in 1908 by Dutch inventor Alexander Vosmaer. HotSpot Titanium was marketed as the only brand to utilise a titanium water tank, which it said offered superior corrosion resistance and durability.

The brand entered the UK market in 2017, when it was launched by former head of Blanco UK, Ron Blount. Speaking to kbbreview at the time, Blount said the brand would be targeted at “specialist premium-end kitchen retailers who are interested in putting a product on display”.

Last year, HotSpot made a significant effort to target kitchen studios with the launch of its Vito tap, which then-MD Nick Taylor said “set a new standard for boiling water tap quality”.

However, in recent years, the company has made an effort to break away from the residential kitchen market, and instead put a greater focus on the healthcare sector. Its recent Qura hot and cold tap was said to have been designed in “collaboration with mental health professionals to cater to the specific needs of mental health environments”.

Nick Taylor left the business last year to rejoin Zip Water, where he had previously worked for more than 15 years.

HotSpot Titanium’s Netherlands business closed down in September 2024, with the remaining distribution in the country now said to be handled by logistics giant GXO.

Speaking to kbbreview, retailers confirmed that HotSpot Titanium broke the news to its remaining retail partners yesterday, explaining that it would no longer be trading.
