Roann invests to significantly boost fabrication capacity

Surface fabricator and installer Roann has announced a new £300,000 investment into its Wakefield factory, which it says will enhance production capacity, while also supporting its sustainability goals.

The low-silica worktop company says the investment has funded new cutting-edge machinery, which includes an edge polisher and computer numerical control (CNC) saw. According to Roann, this will allow it to improve quality and boost its manufacturing efficiency to meet increasing demand.

In the near future, Roann also says it plans to upgrade its water filtration system. Once complete, the new 800 litre system will help the company improve its eco credentials, as it will create a closed water recycling circle that will reduce fresh water consumption by an estimated 90%.

In addition, this will also reduce dust, decrease wear and tear on equipment, and cause less sediment accumulation – which should eliminate the need for the company to shut down its machinery for removal.

All in all, Roann estimates the combined efforts of this investment will allow it to significantly increase worktop fabrication capacity, increasing from 15,000 to 25,000 units each year.

“We’re constantly striving to deliver the best and most sustainable working practices and craft the highest quality worktops,” commented Scott Wharton, operations and technical director at Roann.

“This £300K investment allows us to not only increase our production capacity but also enhance the environmental sustainability of our operations. By integrating the latest technologies, we’re able to continue to meet our clients’ growing needs while minimising our impact on the planet and reinvest in training our people, and our factory.”

In other news, Roann recently became a member of the Worktop Fabricators Federation (WFF), reinforcing its commitment to the health and safety of its staff.
