Showroom of the Month: Poggenpohl, St. Albans
A full-scale renovation sees Poggenpohl’s St. Albans showroom reimagined into a flagship destination and its new UK headquarters.
It’s a bold new chapter for one of the kitchen industry’s most enduring names. Poggenpohl, credited as one of the world’s oldest kitchen brands, has reopened its completely transformed showroom in the heart of St. Albans.
The refreshed space on London Road now offers visitors a deeper, more immersive glimpse into the company’s contemporary design ethos, with its updated interiors also serving as the home of Poggenpohl’s UK head office.
The redesigned showroom has been carefully curated to showcase the best of Poggenpohl’s luxury portfolio. Featuring seven striking displays that span all the brand’s core design concepts, the studio sets out to inspire visitors with a mix of colours, materials and tactile finishes.
Alongside the aesthetic variety is a focus on function: three of the kitchens are fully operational, and a working coffee bar is fitted with the latest innovations from partner brands including Miele, Gaggenau, Siemens, Bora, Quooker, Zip and Spekva.
At the centre of the experience is a new palette wall and materials zone – a creative space designed to help clients visualise bespoke combinations and finishes with the support of in-house designers.
The goal, according to the team, is to guide customers through a kitchen journey that’s not only luxurious but deeply personal.
“We are delighted to unveil our newly renovated showroom in St Albans, which perfectly reflects the Poggenpohl ethos of blending luxury design with functionality,” said Sharon Wallis, managing director of Poggenpohl UK. “This space provides our customers with an immersive experience, where they can explore the full potential of Poggenpohl kitchens.
“Additionally, being the location of our UK head office, it represents the hub of our operations and design expertise.”
In its dual role as both showroom and head office, the space reflects the brand’s investment not just in product, but in people. A dedicated team of Poggenpohl designers is permanently based on-site, offering one-to-one consultations and expert insight for both retail clients and trade partners.
For independent retailers and designers, this latest showroom is a clear signal of Poggenpohl’s ongoing commitment to the premium kitchen market – and a reminder of the value a well-designed, physical showroom still holds in building strong customer relationships.
