New group managing director Chris Wragg

The Danesmoor Group has a new group managing director, having appointed current group marketing director Chris Wragg to fill the top spot at the company.

Danesmoor Group CEO, Mark Stephenson said he was delighted to announce Wragg’s promotion to group managing director, adding: “Chris has multiple experience of senior leadership roles both from big multi-national FMCG business such as Mars and Nestlé, but also from family, private equity investor backed business.

“The business has ambitious plans, and Chris is excited to be at the forefront leading us through this growth phase. I have every confidence in him and the team to successfully deliver our planned strategy.”

Chris Wragg also commented: “I’d like to thank the Danesmoor Group for the opportunity to lead this great family business and for the trust the family have placed in me.

“Our new strategy is working well, and we are seeing growth well ahead of the wider market in what is a very tough economic climate. I look forward to meeting more of our valued customers in the coming months and to continue to provide the market leading, innovative supply solutions, product range, quality and service that the group is renowned for.”

The business was first founded back in 1903 under the name Percy W Stephenson and Son, which at the time was an architectural ironmongery business with a small shop on Darlington’s North Road. Now, the Danesmoor Group says it has become one of the leading distributors and suppliers to the UK KBB industry, through its PWS and Life brands.
