Showroom of the month: Innova Care Concepts, Wetherby
We take a closer look at how the new Innova Care Concepts showroom in Wetherby is serving specialist home design for clients with accessibility needs.
Accessible design is something that truly gets to the heart of what good kitchen and bathroom design is all about – the combination of style, aesthetics and practical solutions tailored to the needs of the individual, whatever they may be.
And few do it better than Innova Care Concepts, whose recently opened showroom in Wetherby is making waves among both clients and industry peers. Opened in February, the 1,100 sq ft space is spacious and contemporary.
The showroom is by appointment only, ensuring a focused and tailored experience for every visitor. “Everything’s by appointment,” says Bob Oliver, sales and marketing director. “We’re fairly busy – averaging two and a half visits a week from clients.”
The showroom space is purposeful, with accessibility at the heart of the design. “It’s all level access, from the front doors into the reception area, and through to the showroom itself, Oliver explains. “This is throughout the space with double doors, a disabled toilet, and also a fully working accessible bathroom.”
The main features are two kitchen displays, a bedroom, and an en-suite, but the highlight is the accessible kitchen area. “The favourite area for us, and made recently, is the accessible kitchen. We’ve got the drop down wall cabinets, twist and turn ladders, with slide and hide ovens. It’s just a really good way of demonstrating all of the accessible features within the kitchens that we do, but you can also see all of the standard kitchens as well.”
Innova works exclusively with Symphony kitchens and prides itself on a design-led approach. “We obviously focus on putting specialist equipment and furniture into accessible environments, be that multi-user such as a care home, hospice, or a domestic property. And our ethos and our methodology is very much around understanding the client’s needs.”
Looking ahead, Innova Care Concepts has ambitious plans for the Wetherby showroom and beyond. “At some point we intend to add to our product offering by supplying hydrotherapy pools,” Oliver says. “And we want to incorporate a pool into the showroom at some point in the future.
Further afield, the intention is to replicate the same showroom model with similar square footage in the southern region of the UK, around the London area, and then possibly even more showrooms in other areas in the future.
