Wickes design & install booming with business up by 30%

National retailer Wickes saw positive revenue growth across 2025 as a whole, with its design & install business specifically seeing a monumental boost of around 30% across the last 12 months.

In its latest trading update released this morning – which covers Q4 business and reveals a snapshot of the retailer’s financial year as a whole – Wickes’ retail arm reported making full-year revenue of £1.209bn in 2025. Wickes says this marks average revenue growth of 6.5% for the year as a whole.

Wickes’ retail revenue performed slightly better in the first half of the 2025 year, during which it reported £634m in sales, compared to the back half, which saw a total of £574m.

Across its retail business, these results are broadly consistent with the same time 12 months ago, during which Wickes reported a total 2024 year revenue of £1.212bn – with £633.2m generated in the first half of the year, and £579.1m in the latter half.

However, turning to its design & installation business, Wickes reported making total revenue of £427m across the year as a whole – an incredible year-on-year increase of roughly 30% compared with 2024’s revenue figure of £326.5m.

This is particularly significant considering that this time last year, Wickes was celebrating its efforts to slow the revenue decline to its design & install business.

Unlike its retail sales figures, design & install revenue was almost perfectly balanced across both halves of 2025, with £213m made in the first six months, and £214m generated in the back half of the year. Wickes also says that design & install orders have now been growing for five consecutive quarters, and delivered sales have been increasing for three.

Combining both its retail and design & install revenue, Wickes reports making a group revenue total of £1.636bn across 2025 as a whole.

The national retailer also confirmed it had opened new stores in Southport and Northampton Riverside during Q4 of the year, which takes its yearly total of new store openings up to five. Wickes also said it had completed one store refit and “refreshed” five more stores in the back half of 2025, which means around 83% of its store estate has been updated to its new format style.

Reflecting on the business’ latest results, David Wood, chief executive at Wickes, said: “This has been another period of good sales growth for Wickes, underlining a year of strong progress against our strategy. Pleasingly, growth has been volume-driven across the business, with customers turning to Wickes for value, convenience and speed. Our Design & Installation customers have responded well to the enhancements to our offer, enabling us to build on the sales momentum we have established this year.

“As we continue to invest in our growth levers, we remain on track to meet market expectations for the full year and look forward to supporting even more customers with their home improvement projects in the year ahead.”
