Former sales director Scott Rotchell has just been announced as the new managing director of Poggenpohl UK, and will be officially stepping into the role on May 1.
Rotchell has more than 15 years of experience with the company, having begun his career at Poggenpohl in August 2011. The furniture brand says that as he has worked in many roles throughout his time at the business, and as a result, will bring a unique perspective to the MD role.
After first starting as a technical designer in Poggenpohl’s Wigmore Street studio, Rotchell quickly progressed to the role of sales designer in the same showroom. By 2016, he had moved onto looking after training, showroom refurbishments and operational projects. In January 2018, Rotchell was promoted to the role of dealer manager for the UK & Ireland, before eventually becoming sales director in 2024.
“I am honoured to take on the role of managing director at Poggenpohl UK,” Scott Rotchell commented. “Having grown within the company over the past 15 years, I feel deeply connected to our brand, our people, and our partners. I look forward to building on the strong foundations established under Sharon’s leadership and continuing to strengthen our presence and relationships across the UK and Ireland.”
Rotchell’s predecessor, current managing director Sharon Wallis, is departing the company to set up an accountancy firm. Reflecting on her time leading the brand, Wallis said: “It has been a privilege to lead Poggenpohl UK and work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
“Scott’s journey within the business is a testament to his commitment, expertise, and leadership, and I have every confidence that he will continue to drive the company forward with passion and vision. I now look forward to embarking on a new chapter by establishing my own accountancy firm, SWC Accountancy.”
