Showroom of the Month: Interiors by Design, Market Harborough
Mohammed Essajee, owner of Interiors by Design in Market Harborough, has unveiled a flagship one-stop-shop showroom.
Interiors by Design has built its reputation over 15 years on craftsmanship, design expertise and a fully managed service, but its new 8,000sq ft Market Harborough showroom signals a clear step up in ambition.
Backed by a significant six-figure investment, the space reflects both the maturity of the business and its confidence in a design-savvy local market. It’s a destination showroom; one that moves away from static displays in favour of fully realised environments. Clients can explore working kitchens with live appliance demonstrations, browse fitted bedroom furniture and consult in dedicated spaces.
As owner Mohammed Essajee puts it: “Market Harborough is our most ambitious project to date – it’s been designed to completely change how customers experience kitchen and bedroom retail.”
The company operates a vertically integrated model. With its own manufacturing facility, Interiors by Design controls the entire journey from concept to installation. “By combining our own manufacturing capabilities with a high-end showroom environment, we offer a level of flexibility and quality that’s difficult to replicate,” he says.
The showroom itself reflects that thinking. “The showroom has been designed to feel warm, welcoming and full of inspiration. We wanted to create a relaxed environment where our customers can take their time to explore and visualise different styles, from kitchens and bedrooms through to bathrooms, flooring and tiles.”
This ‘one-stop-shop’ approach is central to the offer. “What makes us different is that we are a true one stop shop. We design, manufacture and install everything in house, so our customers do not have the stress of dealing with multiple companies.”
Essajee describes his standout display: “One of our favourite displays within the showroom is the Mornington Vale black kitchen, as it perfectly captures the balance between timeless craftsmanship and modern living.”
Brand partnerships remain carefully curated, with kitchens supplied by Second Nature and bathrooms from names including Burlington and Crosswater. The result is a cohesive environment that builds on the company’s Wigston roots – the location of its first ever showroom.
Essajee concludes: “Wigston laid the foundations for our growth, and Market Harborough is the next evolution – bringing a more elevated, design-led experience to a new audience.”
