Showroom of the Month: The Kitchen Room, Boroughbridge
We visit The Kitchen Room in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire, a compact but carefully curated studio bringing a warm, homely approach to kitchen retail in the heart of North Yorkshire.
Opened in October 2025, The Kitchen Room in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire may only span around 550sq ft, but its owners have turned the modest footprint into a strength rather than a limitation.
The showroom benefits from strong visibility in the historic market town between Harrogate and York. Inside, the single-floor space hosts three full kitchen displays plus a utility area, each designed as a complete room setting to help clients picture how the scheme could translate into their own homes.
Co-founder and designer Sam Arsoska says the compact size was a deliberate advantage when shaping the showroom concept. “While the space is relatively compact, we see that as a real advantage. It allows us to curate a small number of beautifully considered kitchen displays while keeping the showroom warm, welcoming and personal rather than overwhelming.”
Rather than a traditional retail environment, the aim was to create something more akin to a lived-in interior, with layered textures, warm lighting and natural materials such as stone worktops. “We wanted the showroom to feel more like a home than a retail space,” Arsoska explains. “Clients often tell us it feels more like stepping into a home than a traditional showroom, which is exactly the atmosphere we wanted to create.”
The displays themselves reflect a balance of classic and contemporary influences. One of the standout schemes is a heritage-inspired kitchen combining soft parchment cabinetry with a deep green island and statement stone surfaces – a look that resonates strongly with the local clientele, many of whom are renovating period properties across North Yorkshire.
Alongside this is a painted slim shaker with delicate beading and a more contemporary shaker display styled with darker accessories. A separate utility display demonstrates practical storage solutions using oak slab doors and panelling for busy family homes.
The business itself is family-run, with clients working directly with the husband-and-wife founders from the initial design consultation through to installation. “We are a family-run business and our ethos is very simple: to make everyday spaces beautiful while offering a genuinely personal service,” says Arsoska.
And the future looks promising for The Kitchen Room. The couple plans to strengthen the business’ local presence across Yorkshire while also turning the showroom into more of a lifestyle hub, with events such as design evenings and cooking demonstrations aimed at bringing the community into the space.
