The Just Add Water bathroom showrooms in Barnet and Buckhurst Hill have been acquired by bathroom, plumbing and heating merchants Beggs & Partners, following the administration of previous owners, Fayers Plumbing & Building Supplies.

Beggs & Partners was founded in 1960 in Belfast, originally looking to supply plumbing and heating products to the trade. In the six decades since, the company has gone on to open more than a dozen branches across Northern Ireland, Essex and East Anglia.

Fayers Plumbing & Building Supplies filed to appoint administrators on June 8, with Sarah Cook and Andy John of FRP Advisory being appointed as joint administrators.

In the company’s most recent financial accounts, despite a year-on-year sales increase of 17% in 2024, Fayers’ made a loss of more than £236k. The latest report also says that its trade counter saw an 11% decline in sales as well as a 22% reduction in profit – in spite of showroom sales increasing slightly by 2%.

Beggs & Partners says its acquisition of the two Just Add Water showrooms “brings a strong reputation for premium design, product expertise and customer service, values that align perfectly with ours”.

The new parent company also said that both trade and retail Just Add Water customers can still expect the same high-quality experience as before, which will now be enhanced by Beggs & Partners “wider resources, logistics and buying power”. In addition, Beggs & Partners says it plans to invest in the showrooms’ trade counters and showrooms.

Plumbers merchant UK Plumbing Supplies Limited has also acquired the Fayers Plumbing & Building Supplies site in Enfield, in a deal which also included business assets and the transfer of 19 employees assigned to that location.
