Speaking exclusively to kbbreview, kitchen and bedroom retailer Wren has revealed that it plans to redouble its focus on the UK market to open a retail store “in every town and city in the country” over the next several years.
Following the news that Wren will be opening its first small format high street store next week, Darren Watts, Wren’s showroom development director told kbbreview about the company’s renewed emphasis on the UK market.
He explained: “After a successful start to 2025 in the US market, Wren is looking to end the year with more than 35 new locations opened in the country this year alone. With this in mind, we will now be refocusing on the UK market.
“Some of these openings will include small format high street stores like the one opening in Chiswick next week, but we’re looking to have several different store formats, not just the big format retail park stores we have had until now. Our goal is to establish a presence in every town and city across the UK over the coming years, as part of our long-term strategy and roll-out.”
kbbreview was also told that Wren is looking forward to turning its attention back to increasing the number of UK showrooms, with Watts saying that the plan is to “accelerate our openings to the same pace that we did a few years ago, such as when we had double-digit openings every year”.
Looking ahead, Watts said: “We’re exploring a number of potential locations for new showrooms and intend to open several more later this year. We’re looking forward to sharing details on the locations in the coming months.”
Wren first publicly announced its expansion into the US market back in 2020, and in the years since, has opened a swathe of retail stores along North America’s east coast spreading across seven states.
