Retailers are being encouraged to support Quooker MD Stephen Johnson’s record-breaking international walking fundraiser next month, with the company giving away free Quooker systems to those who donate.
In January 2025, Johnson announced plans to complete a walking challenge in honour of his late father, that would see him walk 2.6 million steps and nearly 2,000 km across a 31-day period, with him needing to walk an average of 65km each day.
His route will begin in Düsseldorf, Germany, and conclude at the company’s Spanish HQ in Barcelona, taking him across five countries. Along the way, Johnson says he plans to raise £100,000 for two children’s charities: Grief Encounter and Friendship Circle.
Quooker says that customers who donate £10 or more to Johnson’s cause will be entered to win one of six complete Quooker systems.
In addition, showrooms can support the campaign even further by forming their own team to walk locally. Quooker says that the teams can log their collective distances, with cash prizes being awarded to the top fundraisers.
Quooker has also promised national recognition to participating showrooms, which will be promoted on its social media platforms.
“Dealers are the beating heart of our success,” commented Stephen Johnson. “This challenge is about resilience, compassion and shared purpose. We’re proud to walk the walk – and invite every dealer in our network to join us, step by step.”
