InSinkErator launching summer showroom drop-in sessions

To help retailers understand new food waste recycling schemes introduced earlier this year, InSinkErator is launching a new 30-minute drop-in programme that will run throughout summer 2026.

The new Simpler Recycling regulations were introduced earlier this year, now requiring all UK households to separate food waste for weekly collection. As a result, InSinkErator says awareness of food waste disposers has increased exponentially in recent years, with 2025 seeing a 21% year-on-year increase in online searches for food waste disposers.

However, the food waste disposal brand believes many kitchen retailers still want clarity on the changes. In a bid to fix this, InSinkErator says it is making its team available for short in-person visits, running from now until September 30.

Designed to educate retailers, the drop-in sessions will cover practical guidance on the new Simpler Recycling regulations, as well as learning how to position food waste disposers within their retail offering to clients.

“We wanted to create a way for our team to connect with retailers in a simple and effective manner to discuss the future of food waste management, as it’s such a hot topic this year,” explained InSinkErator UK sales director, Kevin Carr.“ Each 30-minute visit will explore the key updates, including the introduction of separate food waste collections for households and businesses, as well as the implications for kitchen design, layout and everyday user behaviour.

“Alongside a clearer understanding of the legislation, showrooms we visit will also learn how to discuss the addition of a food waste disposer with their customers, highlighting where the products can provide a convenient and space-saving complementary option in the kitchen, ideal for those seeking simple, hygienic and practical solutions.”
