Bauformat shortens holiday shutdown to prepare for returning demand

German kitchen manufacturer Bauformat has confirmed that is reducing its traditional summer shutdown period to facilitate increased production once the lockdown is eased.

Both Bauformat and sister brand Burger have confirmed a reduction in the August shutdown from the usual three weeks to one.

Bauformat and Burger Küchenmöbel, part of the Baumann Group, said that it is anticipating that the UK trading restrictions implemented because of the Covid-19 pandemic will soon be relaxed in the UK and sales will increase as a result.

Dirk Kleykens, export manager UK, said: “The main reason behind our decision is to help our clients as much as we can. We anticipate that sales will pick up very quickly after the lockdown and our clients will require delivery of these kitchens at the end of July/early August.

“Therefore, we consider this change in holiday periods will be less disruptive to sales and deliveries and will contribute in maintaining an efficient and streamlined production schedule.”

Burger will also action a one-week holiday period during the first week of May.
