Close To Home campaign grows with free directory for retailers

Close To Home, the campaign aimed at expanding the profile of the independent KBB retail sector to consumers, is now offering free entries in a dedicated directory for retailers with three showrooms or less.

The directory, which is part of the These Three Rooms website, will be the main focus of print advertising, social media activity and SEO as consumers are steered towards finding local independent experts to make their dream kitchen, bedroom and bathrooms projects come true.

The ‘Close To Home’ initiative is organised by Taylist Media, the publisher of the UK’s biggest selling KBB consumer title Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms and its spin-off website TheseThreeRooms.com.

The Close To Home initiative aims to promote the expertise, personal service and community knowledge of local independent retailers to consumers actively engaged in the early research stages of a kitchen, bedroom or bathroom project.

The TheseThreeRooms.com site will also outline to visiting consumers why their first port of call should be their local independent as well as showcasing the very best projects developed by these experts.

There are many activities planned over coming months, but retailers themselves can get involved today by posting their details on the directory and then downloading an artwork pack from the website and using it across their own social media, websites and marketing materials and using the hashtag #kbbclosetohome.

In a kbbreview blog post, managing editor Andrew Davies said that the scheme is a direct response to uncertain market conditions following the lockdown. “There is a reality right now that we can’t avoid – because of everything that’s happened in the last six months or so consumers are probably just a little more cautious about making the big investments.

“So we thought it was about time we did our part and not only inspire their dream but also help them find the people that can make the dream come true – and that’s you. The Close To Home initiative is about showing consumers that all the expertise they need is right on their doorstep.”

To submit their details, retailers – with three showrooms or less – simply click here fill in a very simple form and upload an accompanying image.
