Retailers back Save Our Skills by posting free job ads

Independent kbb retailers are backing the kbbreview Save Our Skills campaign by taking up the offer of free job vacancy posts on kbbreview.com.

The kbbreview Save Our Skills campaign was started as the coronavirus situation was beginning to lead to many redundancies within the kbb sector. There is, kbbreview believes, an urgency to keep the skills and experience these people possess within the industry if possible.

The campaign began with a call to anyone in the kbb sector who had recently been made redundant to contact kbbreview with their details and they would be posted on kbbreview.com and a dedicated email showcase would be sent to the full database every Monday.

The first mailer was sent this week, with the second due this coming Monday.

Earlier this week, kbbreview announced that as part of the campaign independent retailers with three showrooms or less could post their job vacancies on kbbreview.com for free until the ed of July.

And the first ads are now starting to appear with vacancies for kitchen designers at retailers Solent Kitchen Design in Southampton; James James Kitchens on the Wirral and Sheen Kitchen Design in West London.

Any retailers who want to post a recruitment ad for free should read this Q&A, which gives all the information on how to submit their details.

“I’m absolutely delighted that retailers have started posting their vacancies with us,” said kbbreview managing editor Andrew Davies. “We really want to start teaming up businesses looking for great candidates with highly experienced people who have been made redundant because of the effect of the coronavirus on the market.

“It’s so important that we do everything we can to stop hundreds of years of skills and knowledge seep out of the industry if we can help it – we need that experience now more than ever.”

The kbbreview Save Our Skills campaign is supported by Quooker. Md Stephen Johnson recently wrote a heartfelt piece on why he thinks the initiative is so important.

Anyone who has been redundant and would like their details on kbbreview’s Save Our Skills page should read this Q&A on how to submit their details.
