French furniture brand Schmidt has announced plans to open a new Hampshire showroom next month, which will push the company’s total number of UK stores up to 31.
Located within the historic former Old Corn Exchange in Ringwood, the 195m² showroom will occupy a prominent location in the town centre, with customer parking available nearby.
Once open in October, visitors to the space will be able to discover Schmidt’s bespoke solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, media walls, studies and home offices, which the brand says can be tailored to individual homes and lifestyles.
Schmidt says the new showroom will be owned and operated by Yasir Derwish, who has lived local to the Ringwood area for more than 30 years. The company says Derwish decided to open his first Schmidt showroom after project-managing a renovation of his own home.
“What immediately stood out to me about Schmidt was the quality of its products and the level of customisation it offers,” Derwish commented. “We were also struck by the positive atmosphere when visiting the showrooms, the UK head office and the facilities in Alsace. Despite being an international brand, Schmidt has a strong family feel, with everyone taking pride in what they do. That made us want to be part of it.”
