Vitra maintains product supplies for retailers during pandemic

Product availability for retailers and its distribution partners has been Vitra’s top priority during 2020.

Vitra’s factories remained operational at full capacity during the pandemic. The investment in 2019 in a new UK warehouse was helpful in holding stock for distributors to get products out for retailers.

Levent Giray, managing director for Vitra in the UK and Ireland, said: “We work with well-resourced distribution partners and have been able to keep them supplied or hold stock on their behalf because we own and operate the factories and control production for brassware, ceramic ware, furniture and tiles.

“Fortunately, we are not reliant on importing from third parties or using multiple countries to supply products. The continuance of supply has allowed us to maintain our levels of service during what have been very challenging months.

“We certainly see the benefits of consistency and positivity. Retailers are reviewing relationships with their suppliers based on service levels during this time. All our staff have adapted well to the new ways of working. I want to pay tribute to the team at Vitra who have certainly gone the extra mile this year to support our customers.”

The new London showroom in Clerkenwell is also on track to open at the end of the year.
