Luxury bathroom brand Thomas Crapper has raised almost £1,500 for Bowel Cancer UK from a fund-raising cycling event.
The money was raised through a static bike ride, which took place at Thomas Crapper’s headquarters in Huddersfield. The goal was to cycle 250 miles, which represents the distance from its Huddersfield offices, via the brand’s previous home in Stratford-on-Avon, to Chelsea, the site of Thomas Crapper’s original factory site.
The bikes were installed inside the offices, and members from the small team at Thomas Crapper took time out of their busy schedules to collectively reach their goal.
Managing director Paul Dwyer helped contribute to the overall efforts, and commented: “We were eager to start raising money for Bowel Cancer UK and, as the Thomas Crapper team is small and mighty, we decided on a static bike ride as our first fund-raising event. The date was set, bikes were sourced, the social team was briefed, PR and marketing content was in place… and we were off!”
As well as raising valuable funds for Bowel Cancer UK, the manufacturer says it undertook the charity challenge to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis.
Although the charity bike ride has already taken place, those who still wish to donate can do so here, through the event’s JustGiving page.
Last year, the luxury bathroom brand investing £100,000 into a new warehouse and expanded facilities, in a move which it said reaffirmed its commitment to retailers.
