Boiling water tap brand Quooker UK has officially launched into the commercial market, with managing director Stephen Johnson telling kbbreview the company has “aspirations to grow a significant business” within the UK’s offices.
According to Johnson, Quooker has previously supplied its products to a small number of offices, but the company is now looking to target the commercial channel as “a full-on business strategy”.
Discussing the new venture – which launched just last week – Johnson told kbbreview: “We were doing commercial taps for people who came to us and asked us for it, and we were very successful with that in a number of high-end offices. But now we’ve decided to commit to it as a true channel strategy, and we have aspirations to grow a significant business.”
Johnson said that Quooker has prepared for the commercial launch by appointing a team of dedicated commercial channel staff who will work completely separately from its existing residential market team.
“We’ve completely differentiated it from the residential team, and we’re dealing with it as a complete new business sector,” Johnson said. “Previously it had been handled through the same people, but we’ve decided to recruit a full team now so it has its own focus. The back office operations will run through the same team that we’ve got now, so administratively and in terms of service, we’ll be utilise our existing team.”
Johnson continued: “There’s slightly different disciplines in dealing with an office, but we pride ourselves in the service we give. We’ve got a 4.9 score on Trustpilot, and we’ve got 100 engineers of our own employed on the roads, so we’re very responsive.
“There are 30 million offices in the UK, so we have aspirations to grow a significant business in that sector. We’ve got 750,000 UK customers now, and a lot of those will have offices. There’s a natural synergy there and we see great opportunities with it, so it’s really exciting.”
