Staff from Merlyn and Vado recently completed the Derbyshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising almost £8,000 in support of the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
The team completed the arduous challenge on October 15, with the fundraising marking the latest chapter of Merlyn’s longstanding partnership with the charity, which provides financial support to UK Breast Cancer charities.
The Derbyshire Three Peaks Challenge is made up of a 21-mile circular hike that includes summiting the region’s three highest peaks, Kinder Scout, Bleaklow Head and Higher Shelf Stones.
The fundraising team completed the trail in under 10 hours, and have received over 240 donations so far, for a current total of £7,949. This is particularly impressive because the team only set an initial target of £5,000, which it has already absolutely smashed.
“It is always a privilege to raise funds for the Pink Ribbon Foundation and an honour to complete the Three Peaks Challenge alongside my wonderful colleagues,” said Eileen Slattery, marketing director at Merlyn. “It’s been a tough day but a great day, and we are grateful for such generous support from our industry friends.”
