New head of bathrooms at Villeroy and Boch

Villeroy and Boch has appointed Georg Lörz to the management board as director of bathroom and wellness. He will succeed Andreas Pfeiffer on 1 August 2020.

Lörz worked for Villeroy and Boch from 2003-2008 and held several positions including head of sales and marketing for bathroom and wellness. He then left the company and was with Recticel Bedding (Schweiz) for eight years and then he was MD Germany of the Varicor Group for two years. Most recently, he founded the company werkbad Group, which specialises in bespoke bathroom furnishings.

Dr Alexander von Boch-Galhau, chairman of the supervisory board of Villeroy and Boch AG, said: “We are delighted to have secured Georg Lörz for the management board. Thanks to his extensive expertise in the areas of general management, strategy, sales & marketing and supply chain, not to mention his thorough understanding of the sector, he will continue to drive the Bathroom and Wellness Division’s success.”

Pfeiffer became head of the division in 2008 and joined the management board as the director of bathroom and wellness in 2012. The move was mutual between Pfeiffer and the board as he will leave the company to pursue new professional challenges in his new home in Austria.

Frank Göring, CEO of Villeroy and Boch AG, said: “Eight years on the Management Board speak for themselves. During this time, Andreas Pfeiffer played a key role in the successful advancement of Villeroy & Boch and the Bathroom and Wellness Division. We thank him for his commitment to Villeroy & Boch and wish him all the best for the future.”

During Pfeiffer time on the board, he led the bathroom and wellness division to produce steady growth both in profit and expanding the company internationally. One focus was on expanding in the Asian reign with a focus on China.
