PJH smashes 12-month charity goal

KBB distributor PJH has managed to far surpass its 12-month fundraising target, donating all of the proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Last summer, the company set a fundraising goal of £10,000, which it has managed to smash by raising £11,531.

The company has also added an additional £10,000 to the total, after it promised to match the total raised when the fundraising goal was announced last year. The company’s final total donation is now £21,531.

At the end of 2023, PJH gave an update on its progress, having raised over £6,000 towards its eventual target at the time. Since then, PJH colleagues have spent the rest of the year raising funds for the charity, putting on events such as bake sales, football tournaments, mountain climbs and sponsored leg waxings.

Following its success this year, PJH has also announced it will continue with another 12 months of fundraising for Macmillan, with the goal of beating this year’s target.

Jason Shaw, PJH’s chief financial officer, congratulated the company’s staff, and said that colleagues from across the UK had excelled in their fundraising. He added: “Macmillan Cancer Support is such an amazing organisation that makes a huge difference to the lives of millions of people affected by cancer, so are we are delighted to be presenting this cheque to the charity.”

Volunteer fundraising speaker for Macmillan, Philip Shuttleworth, said: “We would like to say huge thank you to everyone at PJH for fundraising for Macmillan. We simply could not do what we do without incredible people like you.

“I have been so impressed with all your enthusiasm and determination! This money raised is essential in continuing to contribute with so many aspects of cancer, from treatments, to coping with everyday life and supporting the 3 million people in the UK living with cancer.”

Last month, PJH also announced it had invested further in its customer service capabilities, adding more than 30 new vehicles to its 130-strong delivery fleet.
